The recently completed Farmer-Led Research Networks (FRN) project focused on addressing the gaps left by conventional, top-down agricultural extension strategies. Rather than imposing unvalidated inputs on smallholder groups, the FRN project centered its methodology on a participatory approach where localized farmers co-developed the experimental trials.

The project established a structural cycle to handle field constraints transparently; smallholders identified local bottlenecks, co-designed on-farm trial interventions, collected and recorded field metrics, validated the results collectively within their networks, and shared the final lessons across adjacent village systems. This booklet sets out the consolidated research data, field observations, environmental dynamics, and structural successes observed across the target clusters between 2025 and 2026.
